Whenever I leave Manhattan, and return, as I approach New York City, I've always been in awe while at the same time feeling at peace, I'm home. These are my visions of New York City. It's still the most beautiful city in the world to me.
I know that these visions don't show the dirt, crime or despair that can be seen on the streets, it's still beautiful to me even with all of that. New York goes through its difficulties and yet the skyline ever changing remains magical. It's my home.

Over the last few years, I have been noticing the people who are living on the street. Some set up encampments, while others are clearly more temporary, at least I think they see it that way. At the start of the pandemic, I would see a woman every day on my daily walks, in the doorway of a closed restaurant. In that doorway she had the protection overhead and could protect her things. Over time she devolved as her belongings began to disappear. After time I began to see all the homeless on the street trying to maintain their humanity. But maybe, it's us who need to regain our humanity.

Over the last few years, it has felt like we have entered, like “Alice through the looking glass” an upside-down world where everything feels wrong. Although we all find it difficult to understand this world, we keep trying to right side it up. While out on my walks around the city, I kept noticing various bodies of water acting as mirrors reflecting this world. I began imaging what if, what I am really seeing is the real world and we are in the “Upside-Down” world? This series of photographs reflects those visions.
A book of the “Upside-Down World” photos has been created and you may purchase at https://www.blurb.com/b/12181333-upside-down-world

Over the last few years, I've been doing more and more photography. Capturing things that I see that I find inspiring me. These images touched me, and had me go, wow or hmmm. These are images that I saw, that made me think.
